What is eMail Marketing

eMail marketing is delivering an advertisment or promotion to a target market via email. Before we go any further it is very important to understand the difference between SPAM and legitimate email marketing. SPAM, is defined as an email that is sent to a large group of recipients (in bulk) who have not granted verifiable permission for the message to be sent. Therefore, in order to avoid jail and heavy fines for sending SPAM, which is now illegal, you must obtain permission through an opt-in process. The safest and most cost effective way to do this is by placing a subscribe form on your Web site so your site visitors can opt-in to receive your newsletter or other type of promotional emails from you.

Another safe way to build your opt-in list is through co-registrations. A co-registration is when a person is subscribing to an email newsletter and is presented with additional email newsletters from other Web site partners to subscribe to.
