EQTACK.com

EQTACK, http://www.eqtack.com, is an ecommerce Web site that specializes in selling horse tack (saddles, bridles, reins, etc.). EQTACK launched 5 months ago on a shoe string budget and is already grossing over $15,000 in gross monthly sales.

EQTACK.com is owned and developed jointly by Digital Enterprise Systems and Tridian, a Los Angeles based Web developent company. The developement team designed the site from the ground up. First, the desired graphical look and feel was created. The layout of the site was designed to accomodate components that are critical to successful search engine placement. These components include:

Header blocks and titles containing relevant keyword.
Body text blocks containing relevant keywords
Hierarchical link paths, alt tags, and file names containing relevant keywords.

The Ecommerce Platform
The team choose an open source shopping cart, OSCommerce. OSCommerce is a free and powerful shopping cart that offers a flexible catalog system, product reviews, multiple product images, web based administraion, shipping carrier integration, and registered users for single click purchases. All of this right out of the box. The team added additional modules, which are free contributions, such as coupon codes and Froogle data feeds. OSCommerce also supports most payment gateways. The shopping cart was set-up to accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. EQTACK chose to purchase a Merchant Account but also offers Paypal as a another payment option.

Marketing
Currently, most of EQTACK's orders derive from either pure search engine traffic or pay per click traffic. As stated earlier, the developement team designed the site with search engine placement in mind. This has payed of extremely well as EQTACK is well represented in the top 3 search engines, Google, Yahoo, and MSN.
