Affiliate Marketer's Daily Task Plan

Successful affiliate marketers are highly disciplined professionals. If you are thinking that all you need to do is set-up a Web site, post some affiliate links, and the money will flow in, you are in for a big disappointment. To turn your Web site or network of sites into a cash generating machine you will need to follow a daily regiment of tasks like the one outlined below. Eventually you will develop your own daily task list that works best for you. In the mean-time follow this task schedule:

Task 1: Log into each network to check your traffic and earnings statistics from the previous day. Enter your earnings stats into a spreadsheet that looks something like this:

Task 2: Check all the affiliate links on your site to be sure they are working properly.

Task 3: Re-position, modify text copy, or swap in new banner creatives on poorly performing offers.

Task 4: Add new offers. It is very important to keep fresh offers coming in everyday for your repeat visitors to check out.

Task 5: Check your Web site statistics reports, especially your search keyword traffic. If you do not have Web traffic reporting that gives you keyword search engine and referring link stats, talk to your ISP/Web site hosting company about upgrading to a more professional system ASAP.

Task 6: Check your keywords in the top search engines such as Google, MSN, and Yahoo to see if your placement is dropping or moving up the resuls lists. Check out your competitors sites and see what they are up to.

Task 7: Invite two quality Web sites that are relevant to your market to trade links with you. This will not only send new visitors from these sites but also increase your Google PR (Page Rank). Google Page Rank assigns a score of 0-10 to Web sites based on the number of links from other sites. The higher your Page Rank the higher up your site is likely to show up in search results.

Task 8: Add at least 1 page of new content or spend 1 hour improving existing content on your Web site(s).

Task 9: If you have an opt-in email list, choose an email promotion of the day and send it out to your subscriber list. Be sure to test the email to yourself and check the promotion link before sending out to your entire list.

Task 10: Get some fresh air and excercise for 30-45 minutes each day. This will keep you healthy and clear your mind for new ideas to make your site a lean mean affiliate money making machine.
